BARC's residential composting is at capacity for new customers. New households can only join when space opens. The composting waitlist is open, and being on it is how you hold your place.
To join, call (231) 632-2272 and say you want residential composting. While you wait, keep food scraps out of the recycling bin, since food waste is the one thing that ruins a clean load of paper and containers.
Business composting is in the same position as the home route: at capacity, with a waitlist open. Restaurants, caterers and offices can be added to the list now so they are first in line when room frees up.
Call (231) 632-2272 and describe how much food waste and soiled paper your kitchen produces. Meanwhile, the rest of the business recycling menu is running normally, including bulk cardboard, electronics, appliances and mattresses.
