BARC’s Traverse City site sits near Chums Corner by the Beach Bums Baseball Stadium, 466 US-31 South, Traverse City, MI 49685. Bring it in on a drop-off day and pull up to the drop-off door. Heavier loads and big items can go on a scheduled pickup instead.

Finding the door

Pull forward to the drop-off door.

Watch for Chums Corner on US-31 South and the Beach Bums Baseball Stadium. The building you want is right there. At the entrance there is a notice that reads “Please Pull Forward to Drop Off Door,” so keep rolling past it to the door itself.

Not sure whether your load needs a drop-off or a truck? Special pickups are generally scheduled each Monday, and we cannot offer exact pickup times. The pickup fee is $100 within a 35 mile radius of both facilities, on top of the item prices on the 2026-27 price sheet.

$30Mattresses and box springs, dropped off in Traverse City. A twin mattress and box spring is $30, a double, full or queen is $40 and a king mattress is $50. More on mattress recycling.
CordAnything with a battery or a cord. Electronics are processed with HIPAA-certified eRecycle TC, and drop-off is open at both facilities. See electronics recycling.
$100A standard refrigerator or freezer. Small freon units like a mini fridge, dehumidifier or A/C are $65. The freon is evacuated by a certified facility. See refrigerator recycling.
$25Tires, no tractor or semi. Car and household batteries, fluorescent bulbs and tubes and large appliances are on the same sheet.
CleanPaper, cardboard, #1 to #7 plastics, metal and glass. Please make sure your recycling is clean from any food waste.
